Terms and Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms
By confirming your booking and making a payment, you agree to all terms and conditions listed here.

2. Booking and Occupancy
• A booking is confirmed only after we receive your deposit.
• The number of guests must not exceed what is stated in the booking.
• Mentawai Balcony reserves the right to refuse or cancel any booking that does not comply.

3. Deposit and Payment
• A 50 percent deposit is required to confirm your reservation.
• Deposits are non-refundable. They may be applied to a future booking if you reschedule within the allowed period.
• Final payment is due 60 days before arrival.

4. Cancellation and Rescheduling
• All deposits and final payments are non-refundable.
• You may reschedule if you cancel more than 60 days before check-in, subject to availability. Any price difference for new dates must be paid.
• Cancellations between 60 and 30 days before arrival may be rescheduled with a 15 percent fee of the total invoice.
• No rescheduling or refund is available if you cancel less than 30 days before arrival.
• No refunds for early departures, bad surf conditions, natural disasters, pandemics, political unrest, travel delays, or other external factors beyond our control.

5. Check-In and Check-Out
• Check-in time is after 2:00 pm.
• Check-out time is before 10:00 am.
• Early check-in or late check-out may be arranged if available and may incur extra charges.

6. Guest Conduct
• Guests must respect local culture, the environment, and other guests.
• No illegal drugs or activities are allowed on the property.
• Excessive noise or disturbance may result in termination of your stay without refund.

7. Damages and Losses
• Guests are responsible for any loss or damage to Mentawai Balcony property caused during their stay.
• Costs for repair or replacement must be paid before departure.
• Mentawai Balcony is not liable for loss, theft, or damage of personal belongings.

8. Travel Documents
• Guests must present valid identification (passport) at check-in.
• Guests are responsible for arranging valid visas and permits where required.

9. Health, Safety, and Insurance
• Guests participate in surfing and related activities at their own risk.
• Mentawai Balcony is not responsible for accidents, injuries, illnesses, or medical expenses during your stay.
• Comprehensive travel insurance with medical evacuation is mandatory. The insurance should also cover trip cancellation, delays, natural disasters, and pandemics.

10. Additional Charges and Payment Methods
• Payments must be made by bank transfer in Indonesian Rupiah.
• International transfers (Wise, bank transfer, etc.) are accepted, fees paid by the guest.
• Onsite charges (drinks, surf accessories, rentals, etc.) must be settled in cash (Indonesian Rupiah) before departure.

11. Rates and Services
• Rates are subject to change without notice. Once your deposit is paid, your rate is fixed.
• Mentawai Balcony reserves the right to change services or inclusions due to operational needs.

12. Surf Tax
• The Mentawai Government charges a surf tax to all surfers. This tax is not included in our package price. We can assist in arranging the payment.

13. Transport
• Mentawai Balcony will honor agreed transport arrangements.
• We are not liable for delays, cancellations, or costs related to flights, ferries, or other third-party transport providers.
• Guests are responsible for baggage fees and potential loss or delay of luggage.

14. Force Majeure
• Mentawai Balcony is not liable for any failure to provide services caused by events beyond our control, including but not limited to natural disasters, strikes, war, epidemics, or government restrictions.

15. Liability
• Guests stay and surf at their own risk.
• Mentawai Balcony, its owners, and staff are not responsible for injury, loss, theft, accident, illness, or damage that occurs during your stay or activities.

16. Complaints
• Any complaint must be raised with management during your stay so we can address it immediately.
• No complaints are accepted after departure.
• Refunds, if any, are at our sole discretion and will not exceed the total amount paid for your booking.
