Our Location

We are located near the northern part of the Playgrounds surf zone, surrounded by clear water, white sand, and reef breaks for every level. You can surf a new wave every day within minutes by boat. When you’re not surfing, you can explore nearby islands, snorkel, or just enjoy the view from our sea-facing balcony.

Our Accommodation

Mentawai Balcony offers two beachfront bungalows surrounded by a large tropical garden. Each bungalow sleeps up to five guests, ideal for small groups or families. Every room includes a private bathroom, mosquito nets, and a private terrace with ocean views.

Food We Serve

We serve three fresh meals daily, prepared by our family using local ingredients. Meals include Indonesian favorites, fresh fish, and tropical fruit. After a long surf session, you can relax in the common area or chill on the balcony overlooking the waves.

Surf Trips and Daily Boat Service

We organize daily boat trips to the best surf spots in the Playgrounds area. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced surfer, our local surf guide will take you to the right wave at the right time.
The nearby breaks include Beng Beng, Nipussi, Pitstop, and Ebay, all just a short boat ride away. You’ll surf uncrowded waves with local knowledge and safe conditions.

Our Family and Local Hospitality

Mentawai Balcony is fully managed by our family. We grew up in the Mentawai Islands and built this place for surfers who want a simple, friendly, and authentic experience.
Our son guides the surf trips, our wife cooks the meals, and our father helps keep the place running. Guests often say staying here feels like being part of our family.

Getting Here

Travelling to the Mentawai Islands is part of the adventure. We help arrange all transfers from Padang to our doorstep. You can choose between the fast ferry, the overnight ferry, or the private speedboat. We recommend staying one night in Padang before and after your trip due to ferry schedules.
